Recipe for Crackers with Oat Spread

Serving Size 

 Serves 2 


4 Britannia NutriChoice Cracker biscuits
250ml Nestle/Amul Milk
20-25g Saffola/Quaker/Kellogg's Oats
1/8 small bunch Shepu (chopped)
1 tsp Garlic (paste)
1 tsp Amul Butter
1 tsp Sugar
Salt, Paprika / White pepper to taste
Pomegranate to garnish

Preparation Method

Heat the pan. Dry roast the oats. Let the oats cool and then powder it or leave it as is.

Melt butter in the pan. Add garlic paste, add oats and mix well.

Add milk, chopped shepu , salt ,sugar and peprica.

Cook till milk thickens. ( if required, add more of roasted oat flour)

Let the oats spread cool.

Apply oats spread on cream cracker biscuit. Garnish with pomegranate.

The image of white and green spread on cream coloured biscuits, topped with red pieces of pomegranate , itself is delightful.


Nutrition Analysis

This home-made spread is a great alternative to the commercially available mayo or any other spread.
It is a good way to incorporate shepu ( cheap and strongly flavoured vegetable - rich in Vitamin A and iron) in your diet.
The biscuits too are low in sugar


This spread can be made and kept in the fridge. When guests arrive , you just need to apply the spread
on biscuit and serve.
